THE STORY

This is a vintage kilim in great, clean condition. Weaving these textiles takes a huge amount of dedication and talent. The designs and colour combinations are passed down through generations of women and are particular to each tribe, family or region. Many of our kilim cushions are brilliant examples of upcycling. When a kilim rug has been too well worn and loved the good bits are cut down to make cushions. It's brilliant because so much time and skill goes into weaving these pieces that they're too valuable to waste. It's sustainable design at it's best.

​Our vintage kilims, kilim cushions and rugs are all 100% handwoven and therefore each one is unique. Due to the age and handmade nature of these items, minor signs of discoloration, fading, wear, or slightly unsymmetrical lines may be present. These beautiful imperfections are symbols of the history and unique stories of each item. We see these characteristics as a positive rather than a flaw which add authenticity to each piece.
