EPHEMERAL DESIGNWe make cool. KA PAI goes beyond the bouquet. Our work focuses on shaping spaces—creating environments and installations that feel considered, impactful and true to the brand.
Playful, innovative, bold. We investigate location, brand, market profile and customer journey, crafting experiences with real impact. Unique by nature—we don’t follow trends, we make them. KA PAI studio works with hotels, retailers, photographers, embassies and magazines, among others. Each project is handled with a strong sense of both intuition and structure, backed by solid experience in logistics, project management and art direction. KA PAI works across all experience touchpoints, from tablescaping and food styling to ceramic design, bringing different elements together in a way that feels cohesive without being overworked. The aim is to create artisanal events for those looking for something distinctive, with edge. Based in Brussels, designing globally. |
AN ENIRONMENTAL DESIGN APPROACH
KA PAI tries to conciously think about the impact of our designs. We have a love of foraged and homegrown flora and we will never work with toxic florist foam. The studio has created a community garden The Good Garden Project which is its primary source of livng moss. Projects designed with potted flowers and moss return to the garden for reuse.
The studio loves working with recycled materials like paper, fabric, clay, metal, plastic and we dry flora from our installations whenever we can. Everything KA PAI creates is considered.
WHAT TO EXPECT
KA PAI celebrates nature in all its forms. We seek out rare botanicals, and grow and forage flora to create installations that feel truly one of a kind. At the core of it all is play—experimentation with form, colour and composition that often leads us somewhere unexpected.
Materials fascinate us. We work beyond classical floristry, creating mixed media compositions that embrace texture, contrast and surprise. With a strong focus on reuse and recycling, we’re constantly exploring what’s around us and reimagining how it can be scaled up.
Inspired by Japanese philosophy, we embrace the natural movement of nature. We lean into asymmetry, scale and a sense of freedom in the way we design. Ceramics are a natural extension of this approach, and we regularly collaborate with local ceramic artists—because the vessel and the setting are just as important as the work itself.
KA PAI’s floral creations are often described as an explosion of colour and joy—known for their scale, boldness and originality.

FOAM FREE DESIGN
Details count. Design for design’s sake is not how we roll.
KA PAI is firmly foam-free. Floral foam is made from non-renewable petrochemicals and breaks down into microplastics that end up in our waterways, soil and ecosystems. It’s single-use, impossible to recycle, and widely used out of habit—not necessity. For us, that’s reason enough to stop.
We choose to work differently. The studio uses kenzan, wire, living plants, preserved and dried flowers and other low-impact, reusable or natural mechanics—methods that require more thought, more skill, and a more hands-on approach.
Basically we know better, so we do better.
